| 1. Why do the OEM’s not fit on their machines? |
There are several OEM’s in the world using this product. and their list is in a separate place on this CD. In India this is a new product it has been used by Ingersoll Rand, L & T Kansabahal. We are in the process of securing this product established in Cummins, Telcon, Elgi etc. In some cases the turbo pre-cleaners work contrary to the interest of the OEM’s as the customer will consume less filters, engine life will increase and this means lower sales of spares. OEM’s do not want to increase the price of their machine in this competitive market. They do not have enough pressure from the end users and will have to install once this product is popular.
|
| 2. What happens if the machine is under warranty? |
The manufacturer of Turbo pre-cleaners stand guarantee as per the enclosed letter. There is no way an engine can have warranty problems as it has been used in India on new Cummins engines. Remember – there is an air filter in between Turbo pre-cleaner and the engine.
|
| 3.Will the pre-cleaner create air restriction and starve the engine of air ? |
If properly selected, the pre-cleaner will create very less restriction compared to the restriction when the filter is fully clogged. Engine designers allow a maximum restriction of the air intake system of 25” of water. This is indicated by the restriction gauge and when it pops up red, its time to clean the filter or replace it. Turbo pre-cleaners will prolong the chocking intervals of the filters by at least 4 to 10 times. Hence the engine gets least restricted air for a longer period of time.
|
| 4.Why do you approach us and not go to the OEM instead? |
We are promoting this product with OEMS for the last one and a half year. In the meanwhile we have at least 500 pcs installed in the market and all our customers are happy and are saving filters , engine and fuel. We offer you a choice now – as the OEM is anyways not going to install pre-cleaners on your machine which is on the field. For new machines that you may want to buy, you can insist on turbo pre-cleaners to get the full benefits mentioned on this CD.
|
| 5. Why is the product so expensive, I have offers for same type of pre-cleaners from another company? |
Turbo-II pre-cleaners are patented. There is no pre-cleaner that matches Turbo-II in performance or the lower restriction. A pre-cleaner has to perform in terms of efficiency of separation and also offer least restriction. Both these parameters effect filter life and engine performance. We can prove this aspect if given a chance. Ours is a premium product with better performance and hence commands higher price.
|
| 6. Its centrifugal principle – I have used such a pre-cleaner in
the past and it’s of no use. |
There are many pre-cleaners that have this same principle of centrifugal force to separate dust. But they do not have a few features –
- Entry from the top which is least restrictive
- The spinner inside the pre-cleaner that throws out the
dust and lastly the expantion or the blower chamber
where the air expands, slows down and hence the dust
separation efficiency is a lot higher than any other
centrifugal air pre-cleaner.
|
| 7. If it was so good as I say – then why doesn’t caterpillar
the worlds best earthmoving equip manufacturer not
have it on his machine. |
Catterpillar does not use any product that’s not made by them. Turbo-II is installed by many caterpillar dealers all over the world on their machines as demanded by customers.
|
| 8. There is more dust after installing turbo pre-cleaner than before. |
Check the air filter canister for leakages. Check if the lit is shut tight, check if the seal on the air filter canister is intact. Check if the hoses are clamped tightly and have no leaks. Check the spinner.
|
| 9. I am happy with the engine life I am getting from existing set-up. |
We offer you a product that separates dust from air. In case you have severe dust conditions, you can be assured of longer engine life than you are presently having. Choice is yours to reduce dust entry.
|
| 10. I have been cleaning filters for the last 20 years every day
and we do not have problems. |
Every time you open filter canister for cleaning the following happens:
- Some dust is bound to enter.
- While cleaning the filter you are likely to damage the filter
element.
- When you put back the filter, a careless helper mechanic can
forget to put the seal properly.
- Careless filter handing can damage the filter seal.
- Unnecessary break-down time for cleaning the filters. Stopping
and starting of engine means wastage of fuel.
- In case your operator is not attentive, he may forget to clean
the filter and hence overload the engine or starve the engine
of air creating in-complete combustion in the engine. The
residues of which are harmful for the engine.
- A damaged filter element will not help the engine life.
|
| 11. The labour is cheap here and we are happy with the current
practice of air cleaning filters. |
Cheap labour is fine, but careless labour/helper will destroy engine and reduce the filter and engine life. Cheap labour can be but the machine downtime is expensive.
|
| 12. We have no dust in our mines and don’t need pre-cleaner. |
All mines have dust and the degree of dust depends on the level of suppression of dust. Choice is yours.
|
| 13. We get max life of our engine in the industry and hence
don’t need a pre-cleaner. |
We offer you a choice to increase filter life, engine life and reduce fuel consumption.
|
| 14. We don’t need pre-cleaner as our maintenance standards are
the best. You can ask L & T , Telcon, Cummins– they will tell
you how good our maintenance is. |
All the above companies now appreciate the need of the pre-cleaner , especially in severe dust conditions.
|
| 15. We have AMC of equipment and hence not interested. |
The machine is owned by you. If saving filter, engine, down time, labour, fuel, conservation of fuel etc is a consideration , you may consider turbo pre-cleaner or ask the AMC contractor to install it for protection of your machine.
|
| 16. We have very old machines and hence don’t need the pre-cleaners. |
You may still use the machines for a while and when you replace the machines, you can shift the pre-cleaner from old machine to the new one. Old machines also consume filters and fuel and you will have the same benefits of using Turbo-II as if fitted on a new machine. Beak-down time is also a consideration and it amounts to loss of production.
|
| 17. We don’t do anything without recommendation of OEM. |
OEM’s will welcome this since they will get spares and filter business. We offer you a choice to save money. Its your machine and not owned by OEM. Protection of your machinery is your job not OEM’s. We offer you a choice
|
| 18. We have lots of time for maintenance and hence don’t need
pre-cleaner. |
Again a choice for you to make. Even if you have lots of time for maintenance, you still would like to have more life out of your engine, better fuel consumption etc.
